LAX – Receiving Station X
Budget: $157.8 million
In cooperation with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) constructed a new $157.8 million power receiving station, Receiving Station X (RS-X), to address persistent power reliability, redundancy, and capacity issues at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).LAWA was responsible for building the facilities in the first phase of the project, while LADWP installed equipment and is operating the station.
Niche supported LAWA with project scheduling, delay analysis, and cost control services to monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery within budget.
LAX - Secured Area Access Post Project
Budget: $84 million
The Secured Area Access Post (SAAP) provides a fully functional, secured access point to the Airport Operations Area (AOA) on the west side of LAX. The SAAP accommodates all types of vehicles that require access to the AOA, including construction vehicles, aircraft service vehicles, vendors, and LAWA vehicles. It serves as a prototype for future SAAPs and/or improvements to existing SAAPs at LAX.
Niche provided LAWA with project scheduling, time impact analysis, delay and claim analysis, and cost control expertise during the execution of the SAAP at LAX.
Van Nuys - Taxiway A Rehabilitation
Budget: $35.5 million
This project extended the life of the taxiway pavement on Taxiway A by 20 years. The 8,000-foot taxiway rehabilitation involved 12 phases of development, including full-depth asphalt reconstruction, installation of LED lighting, improvement of signage and pavement markings, grading and drainage upgrades, and enhancements to taxiway geometry.
Niche supported LAWA with scheduling work for the rehabilitation of Taxiway A at Van Nuys Airport. The project took approximately 15 months of construction work.
